The National - So Far Around The Bend




The National are a Brooklyn-based indie rock band formed in Cincinnati, OH in 1999. The band's lyrics are written and sung by Matt Berninger in a distinctive, deep baritone. The rest of the band is composed of two pairs of brothers: Aaron and Bryce Dessner and Scott and Bryan Devendorf. Aaron plays guitar, bass and piano, Bryce plays guitar, Scott plays bass and guitar, and Bryan is the drummer. Padma Newsome, from sister band Clogs, often contributes strings, keyboards, and other arrangements and instrumental flourishes. Influences range from Bruce Springsteen to Joy Division.

The group consists of Jack Barnett (songwriter, producer, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist), his twin brother George Barnett (drums, loops), Thomas Hein (bass guitar, sampler, drums), and Sophie Sleigh-Johnson (keyboards, sampler). They have recorded two albums, Beat Pyramid, released in 2008, and Hidden, released in 2010.

White Rose Movement - Alsatian




White Rose Movement were a post-punk/electro band from London, England. The band is named after the German anti-Nazi resistance movement White Rose. They mix the post-punk style and attitude of early bands of the genre such as Joy Division Killing Joke and The Chameleons with a more New Romantic image reminiscent of bands like Duran Duran, Depeche Mode and A Flock of Seagulls, as well as more modern electroclash and post-punk revival influences.

Alice in Chains - Would?



Alice in Chains is an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1987 by guitarist Jerry Cantrell and vocalist Layne Staley. Although widely associated with grunge music, the band's sound incorporates heavy metal and acoustic elements. Since its formation, Alice in Chains has released four studio albums, three EPs, two live albums, four compilations, and two DVDs. The band is known for its distinct vocal style which often included the harmonized vocals of Staley and Cantrell.

Although never officially disbanding, Alice in Chains was plagued by extended inactivity due to substance abuse, culminating in the death of Layne Staley in 2002. Alice in Chains reunited in 2005 with new lead vocalist William DuVall and released Black Gives Way to Blue, their first studio album in 14 years, on September 29, 2009.

The Presets - This Boy's In Love




The Presets are a Sydney-based Australian duo, consisting of Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes. They first met in 1995 at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music where they were both studying. In September 2005, they released their debut album, Beams, to positive critical response. Their second album, Apocalypso, was released on 12 April 2008. The album was a commercial and critical success, winning the ARIA Awards for "Best Dance Release" and "Best Group" and becoming the first electronic act ever to win the coveted "Album of the Year" award. They also won the 2009 APRA Awards for "Best Songwriters Of The Year" and the 2009 ARIA award for Best Dance Release for Talk Like That.

A Perfect Circle is an American rock supergroup formed in 1999 by guitarist Billy Howerdel and Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan. The original incarnation of the band also included Paz Lenchantin on bass, Troy Van Leeuwen on guitar, and Tim Alexander on drums. The latest line-up featured Marilyn Manson bassist and former Nine Inch Nails bassist Jeordie White; former guitarist for The Smashing Pumpkins, James Iha; and session drummer Josh Freese, who is best known for his work with Nine Inch Nails and The Vandals.

Datarock is a Norwegian electro rock band. The band formed in 2000 as Fredrik Saroea, Ketil Mosnes and Kevin O'Brien and soon hired Tom Mæland. O'Brien and Mæland later left the band, but the duo of Saroea and Mosnes continued the project.

Formed in 2007, the group consists of Michael Angelakos of Buffalo (lead vocals/keyboards), Ian Hultquist (keyboards/guitar), Ayad Al Adhamy (synth/samples), Jeff Apruzzese (bass/synth bass) and Nate Donmoyer (drums). All of the band members, except Angelakos, attended Berklee College of Music.

Ladytron - Destroy Everything You Touch




Ladytron are an electropop/New Wave band originally formed in Liverpool, UK. Ladytron formed in the summer of 1999 when Liverpool musicians and DJs Reuben Wu and Daniel Hunt met dual singers Glaswegian Helen Marnie and Bulgarian-born Mira Aroyo. The band's name was taken from the song of the same name by Roxy Music.

Midnight Juggernauts - Vital Signs



Midnight Juggernauts are a band from Melbourne, Australia composed of Andrew Szekeres, Vincent Vendetta, and Daniel Stricker.The band has been described as anything from 'prog dance meets cosmic film scores', to 'slasher-flick disco' to 'deadpan landscape'. It is hard to define the band's sound as all the instruments are played live through a range of samplers, pads and various acoustic instruments. Following the release of numerous 7", 12" vinyls, and limited edition EPs, the band released their debut album Dystopia. After playing festivals and headlining tours worldwide during late 2007-2008, the band has finished working on their follow up album. The group also runs the label Siberia Records, through which they release their own music and in the future plan to release other artists' material.
